Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop can use either stdio or streamable HTTP.

Stdio

Start from docs/examples/clients/claude-desktop.json.

HTTP

If you want a local bridge, start the server first:

kicad-mcp-pro --transport http

Then point the client at http://127.0.0.1:3334/mcp, or at your custom port if you override KICAD_MCP_PORT. If you want the same port convention as KiCad Studio, use 27185.
